ReNew York and SoulCry church are teaming up for an August 28-29 exhibit!
Artists are asked to submit entries that relate to the theme “From Mess to Meaning.” It can be literal, implied, or otherwise inspired by motifs of brokenness, healing, grace, redemption, forgiveness, and found meaning. It could be art that was created during a time of pain or reflections on how God made beauty out of brokenness, but ultimately, the exhibition will focus on how Jesus brings meaning to our lives. The goal is not to create “Christian" genre art, but for Christians to make excellent art around a central theme – an invitation for the community to “taste and see” through artistic expression.
The artist’s name, narrative, and medium of art will be included on a placard as part of the exhibition. Artists may choose to remain anonymous. A QR code linked to a virtual program will include artists’ websites/portfolios/Etsy shops if visitors wish to purchase works or learn more about the work showcased.
Space is limited, so not all entries are guaranteed for inclusion. Selections will be based on cohesion with the show’s theme, skill level, and compatibility with the hosting organizations’ values. Artists will be expected to sign an agreement with a general statement of faith at the bottom of this form.
