The extravagance of nature explored through extravagant fashion. Worn by luminaries including Beyoncé, Björk, Cate Blanchett, and Lady Gaga, Van Herpen’s fashion designs draw on biomimicry, fractal geometry, and neuroscience. Sculpting the Senses takes you on a journey from the ocean’s depths to the universe’s outer reaches; more than 140 haute couture creations are shown alongside their inspirations—scientific artifacts and natural history specimens such as coral, fossils, and skeletons. Tickets are $30 per adult; please let us know if you need help with a partial scholarship, as we can cover up to half of the ticket price on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are timed entry, so we will meet outside the museum by 2pm for our time slot. Please RSVP before they sell out, as this exhibit is very popular!
ReNew York is a ministry that follows God to love artists and create transcendent work in community. We strive to bring healthy spirituality to those who create culture in this world, to honor people who were made in the image of their Creator, and to cultivate the earth in this modern context.
