ReNew York Productions

We empower artists to go out and make art in their own spheres; but once in a while, we create projects too. Below are some productions we’ve made.

Lobe Yourself

Alone with her wine as the clock ticks towards New Year's, 21-year-old Gracie navigates coming-of-age while her roommate's flawless life feels out-of-range. A story of noisy New York neighbors, getting lit, and the fortitude found in female friendships.

Motherland

Motherland — a Zoom play/film about a Chinese American family that video-chats across literal and metaphorical distances. Winner of “Outstanding Production” and featured as part of the WTFringe 2021 at The National Women's Theatre Festival. Winner of “Best Direction” at the Astoria Film Festival.

It also sparked intergenerational conversations in Chinese churches. If you’d like us to host a screening or if you’d like the discussion materials, reach out!

Covid-Crossed Lovers: R+J Online

When the pandemic hit, the theatre industry shut down and actors everywhere lost their jobs. The community faced the question of “What does theatre look like in a socially-distant, online world?” We wanted to encourage the creative possibilities that a new medium could offer us. Thus, our online adaption of Romeo and Juliet was born.

Labor of Love - A Valentine’s Day Showcase

A showcase where our heartists reconnected with their one true love — their art! Featuring singing, dancing, lighting design, and more!
